Sign of the Times...cont'd

MSNBC firebrand Keith Olberman has apparently been fired. Even though he was their highest rated TV personality, too. Keith was in the position of another New Yorker, Yankee Derek Jeter. Both were franchise players "back in the day" but have since gotten long in the tooth (Jeter is now in his late 30's and his stats have slipped) or in Olberman's case has become more trouble than he's worth.

Olberman, who nudged MSNBC's move to into an overt progressive Democrat news slant (one that helped gain ratings) is probably seen as too much of a prima donna to the new owners of NBC the Comcast cable network. Olberman, with his over-the-top antics, should have foreseen changes coming with new ownership and should have toned it down a notch or three. Too late now. Jeter can only hope for a trade. Nothing lasts forever in the sports/media/infotainment complex but you can play it smart. Word to the wise.
