A commenter on Ann Althouse's blog in re the amazing ability of the PEUs and their allies to mobilize some large demonstrations and sustain them for so long and son well last February.

"The problem with any largish college town is that it supports a population of 10,000 flakey losers. That's one of the reasons I have not returned to Austin in the twenty-something years since graduation."

That "flaky loser" demographic (which Ann Arbor has as well) is definitely a big plus for flash mob demonstrations.
