Polymer casings: The future of ammo?

Some will  no doubt view this development happily. The savings in production cost and weight might be impressive. I wonder if these plastic and steel casings can be reloaded though? BATF the federal anti-gun bureaucracy/Brady Campaign/VPC types all love the idea of severely restricting our ability to produce our own ammo and so I'll be on the lookout for any of their machinations as this technology emerges.
