Michigan politician advocates a look at starting up a state-owned commercial bank - Detroit News
It has worked for North Dakota since 1919. But Michigan politicians having "over-sight" over a money pot of billions of dollars (not to mention the cat-n-mouse regulatory game of keeping the pols' hands out of it as well) makes the whole enterprise seem kinda dubious to me, unfortunately. The concept is sound though. Kinda like a credit union for the whole state.

Sounds pretty harmless until you read the details and discover that the pie in question was loaded up with lots of powdered cayenne pepper and other items that sting and burn if they get in your eyes which a pie-in-the-face seems likely to do, no?
