China's educrats to cancel college majors that don't lead to ready employment

It's all about the Benjamins, yo!
What even makes people want go into majors where they are likely to be unemployed two years after graduating? The heart wants what it wants I suppose but the cost for that indulgence is enormous. The Chi Com educational bureaucracy is now studying how to cut back on college majors that leave over 40 percent of their graduates unemployed or employed outside their fields after two years. Mao Zedong's Year Zero concept from the Cultural Revolution days being applied here albeit with less pain and blood.

$9,000 a semester to go to Eastern Michigan University? Yikes!

At least that's what one student in this article in the Eastern Echo claimed to be borrowing in student loans per semester. Yikes! That's just over $70,000 for a four-year degree. I hope whatever he's majoring in renumerates enough to repay all that in a timely fashion or he/she will be drowning in debt forever. Even with a bachelor's degree in engineering, nursing, business administration or some other field where the grads get hired quick and that tend to pay well servicing that much debt is gonna be a tough row to hoe.

University of Michigan business school to offer  Master’s in Entrepreneurship graduate degree (Michigan Daily)
Random thoughts: Can you really teach entrepreneurship though? Is it really worth $36-$50k for a degree like that? Bottom line: A currently hip and cool degree program that will end up being a career non-starter and a student loan debt suck hole after the shiny wears off.

"Pecking at his rigid corpus [of the American Empire] are an unsavory assortment of human buzzards, scavengers, pack rats, hyenas, and scroungers—nearly all of them on meth, crack, or meth/crack cocktails—who busily pick apart the remaining sinew and marrow from his bones."

Yep. All that but it's still a decent way to pick up some easy extra beer or gasoline money too. Just don't take it too far, eh?
